We are delighted to announce that for the first Seminar Series to be held in 2017 we have William D. Magwood, IV, Director General of the Nuclear Energy Agency, giving a lecture. He will provide his views on several areas of interest regarding nuclear technology-related issues.

Mr Magwood will present an overview of the work of the NEA and note it's many areas of work and will discuss the lessons learned from the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi plant in Japan and how NEA member countries have applied those lessons to assure high levels of nuclear safety around the world.

He will also highlight what the NEA has termed the "human aspects" of nuclear safety such as safety culture and stakeholder engagement and he will also review efforts to address nuclear waste and highlight the international efforts underway to address long-term nuclear science and technology challenges, as well as present the NEA’s new initiative on Education Skills & Technology (NEST).

Please pass this on to anyone who would be interested in attending. We hope to see as many of you there as possible.
